Please give opinions / comments. I looked at a new Mega Cab, dually, and the boy soon to be 15, commented that the rear seat felt like he was sitting on a brick. He liked the leg room of the back seat, but said our 2003 is more comfortable due to the seat alone. Did you notice the rear seat being so firm. I sa in one and it was pretty hard. . Do they soften at all????

Thanks

My wife has never complained about that. I'm always in the driver's seat.

Was this a leather Laramie or a cloth SLT? We have cloth seats. I think the leather seats might be a little firmer.

Firm seats might not feel as comfortable when you first sit on them, but they're better for longer trips.

Not only do you get more leg room in the Mega, but the rear seatback reclines a little. The seatback in our old QC felt like it was at a 90 degree angle to the rest of the seat.

I noticed when I got mine the driver's seat felt like a board, but now it's fine. The firmer seats are pretty comfy on the long rides. My kids love the the back of the Mega, but are 9 and 12, though the 12 yo is pretty tall. I think leg room will trump seat hardness in the long run. You can always put a pad or something in or on the seat. It's hard to get more leg room.

I have leather but put a Coverking seat cover which add about 1/4" of padding. My kids 17, 12 and a 7 month old (in a car seat of course) loves the football field room and the DVD keeps them occupied on long trips.

I've got a 9 year old that could complain about ANYTHING on a given day. If he ever complained about that, I'd let him try walking. :p

Personally, I like a firmer seat. Not that it's really more comfortable, but I feel it would last longer. Maybe I'm wrong.

I always drive, but a couple times I got the 'brick' comment out of the grandkids. I just threw a couple sheepskins at the back seat, no complaints since. I have the cloth.

Look at the bright side, you only have 3 more years, then he can worry about HIS back seat. If you like the Mega Cab, get it.
