I do not believe the power folding tow mirrors are available in a Tradesman. I might be able to live with manual seats. But I do want the power folding mirrors, upgraded dash, garage door opener, high mounted rear camera, rear view and park assist, adjustable pedals buckets with the extended console and 8.4 without Nav! So I am into a Bighorn with upgrades.

Look at what Mountain Home, Id has in stock.

So Snoking

"So I am into a Bighorn with upgrades" HA ! after you drive my LongHorn Limo tonight you will be "into a LongHorn" if you are not convinced your wife will be!

I concur that the Tradesman seats are comfy. And even though my tradesman has the chrome package, I was looking for one without chrome.

I had to look 4 states away to get almost what I wanted. I wasn't going to wait just for black bumpers.

Only thing would like to have are the fog lights but thats an easy fix. Just add your own. Also have manual shift transfer case that is not available on upgrade packages. My truck has everything i want including aisin trans and at a cost of several thousand less then upgrade package trucks. Couldn't be happier with this truck.

Well if we get a new truck at our age it will be our last one, so we want a few bells and whistles that are not available on a tradesman!! SNOKING

I have allways liked the SLT's I've purchased, company paid for the Tradesman, so why look a gift horse in the mouth. But if I was to order again it would be the SLT with some luxury, like my 07 has.

Welp, that Tradesman got sold today and it wasn't sold to me. Ya snooze, ya lose.

Snoking, thanks for the dealer link. They have some pretty sweet pricing but non of those trucks floated my boat.

I'm happy with almost everything with my Tradesman. One thing I do miss is the overhead console with map lights.
Apparently, the o/h console only is available on trucks with electronic transfer case(at least that's what I was told). Oh well.

Ian

My 15 Tradesman has the dash control electronic transfer case and the overhead console lights.

I like the tradesman, wasn't spending over $60k for a new truck. I do miss the fog lights and the non padded door panel hurts my elbow on long drives. I'm gonna have my auto upholstery guy make me a pad sometime.

Don't know how you guys qualified and got a Tradesman for $40k. Mine stickered for $51,755, dealer discount of $4949, factory rebate of $1500 and employee/friends/family discount which I believe was $900. So net price was around $44,406. Then take off the $11,500 for my 2003 SLT sport trade in.

You typically have to negotiate the deal offsite in order to get those type of discounts. When on the lot, regardless of how long the truck has been there they usually won't come down to those type of levels. It's all a game, and once your foot is in the door the advantage swings sharply in to their direction. I just saved $12k on my Longhorn, but it took about 40 negotiation emails to get locked in at that price. I remember printing out all the emails when I went in to put my deposit in and my stapler couldn't get all the way through the stack, so the last several sheets fell off the bundle...to give you an idea of how many emails it took. I then highlighted all the important negotiation points before walking into the dealer to make sure if they attempted to pull a fast one I had the documentation. :)

Sheesh, no thanks. That sounds too much like work. I'm not gonna spend that kind of time working for a deal. If something takes that long I'll lose interest and move on to something else.

Glad it worked out for you.
