Jim at tdr said to drop you a line. I have a trans. Prob. I have a 2003 RAM 2500 with diesel and a 48 re trans. The prob. Is when I drop the gear shift lever to 2 nd. Gear from a dead stop and take off slow, it will shift from first to second, then as my speed build up, the converter will lock then unlock then lock, and stay locked . Jim at tdr said it might be quirk in the system and that the way this modle Trans. Is but you would know. Please advise. Thank you, steve.

The manual 2nd gear lockup is not that positive on a 48RE. Under light throttle it might lock\unlock a couple times until speed is up and load down. Use more throttle and it will likely lock later and more consistently. One of the reasons most of add a lockup switch to control things.

Thank you for the info. I heard something about this lock up switch. Where can I find out how to do this on my 2003 model?
