We did 140 miles in 2 days about 90-100 first day and the last 40-50 half day on Sunday. The other guys are going to Hatfield McCoy in W. VA in October not sure if I will be able to join em. I got to spend a little time with the family;)

Great pics, looks like fun. Do you have any more info on PA ATV trails? We have been to Paragon and Tower City. Lookin to try something a little different.

Thanks Mike

Welcome To  The SSRT Home Page

From the web site it looks like there is only the old railroad bed to ride. There are tons of trails that shoot off from the railroad bed. Just make sure there are no private property signs or no atv signs and you will be fine. Nearby there is also Bloody Skillet which I heard is good ATV Trails on State Forest Land and Sproul State Forest which is listed under clinton county on the above page. They are building a connector over the winter so that all 3 of the above places will be connected. Its around $18 for a one year permit at SSRT the state parks are free all atv's must be registered and insured. feel free to ask if you have anymore questions

Nice thread Kenny61. The rincon riders group I'm in has a yearly ride on Black Mountain in Harlan Co. Ky. Evarts is atv friendly and so are most of the residents. The 60 mile off park trail ride whipped my ice. The word steep to the locals means you flipped, need a winch or spotters to make the hill. I rode 165 miles in 4 days.

I'm not into mud riding but will wear out a trail. 05 Rincon only 1000 miles. Can't wait to return. We have riders from all over the eastern USA attending.

I love all types of riding. I've only been riding for about 70 hours so hill/ rock climbs still make nervous but i'm learning quick. Mud I dont have to worry about hurting myself so It's been my main challenge right now. how about a link to the KY area

Thank you Ken for the info. Were looking to do a trip end of October, might have to check it out. Do you camp when your there or stay at a Hotel? Were coming up from L. I. . Be tough to do it all in one day.

Thanks again. Mike

Kwikfill motel in Kylertown PA $60 something per night with 2 queen beds. The place is a truck stop so there is 24 hour gas and food the Diner is priced fair with decent food if they ask you if you want wet toast that means butter :) Trail head is about 5-10 minutes away. We have not found a place on the trail yet but are looking into one possibility. right now you must trailer to the trail head. Also bring your lunch and extra gas ther is only one deli you can ride to and that is on the eastern side of the trail Gillentown or something like that. this place is in the middle of nowhere and ther is nothing around. also bring GPS the trails just keep going and loop around everywhere its easy to get lost and not to many people around to ask directions. If you stay at the kwikfill in kylertown the nearest trailhead is Black Bear the parking area is covered in deep gravel and I had to put er into 4wd to get through. Buy your permits by mail a couple of weeks in advance. It will save you 2 or 3 bucks each and the drive to the snow shoe trailhead which has a hardware store nearby that sells the permits. If you are sure your gonna go let me know and I will try to describe where some features are I didnt have my gps so I can't be more exact

Here you go Kenny.

Welcome to the Harlan County Ridge Runners ATV Club!

These are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. If you do schedule an off park ride be on time, they don't wait around. Some of my group got left behind last June. LOL

Send me a PM if you go. Never know what my work schedule might be.

We camp on the other side of the mountain in Putney @ Harlan County Campground & RV Park but there are plenty of rental homes in Evarts. Takes 25 minutes to ride over the mountain by atv and 40 minutes by truck.
