I have the 2000/5000 twin compounds and love them and will be pulling with them for the first time at Easter. EGT's climb fast when I floor it but taper off and it doesn't over heat. As far as just A5000 single I was told that it isn't good for towing at all. They told me that the A2000 and the A-MST are good for that. I hope this helps.

Anybody running the A5K on a 24v by itself? If so, what HP are you pushing with it? What rpm does this thing spool at? Max boost?

Aurora 5000

Ck w/ member DLENO. He tested it and the Aurora 2000 by themselves. I have it in a twins combo but my results aren't relative to your question.

I think you will see surge with just the 5000 on the truck towing heavy. DLeno did an article in the TDR said it was kind of slow spooling up.

Not planning on towing with it. Any single turbo good for 600+ HP is going to spool slowly.

What TDR issue number is the article in?

Anyone running this turbo. What kind of power will it support. Good for towing at 500-600hp? Hows spoolup and egts?

We had one on an 04, the surge while towing will drive you nuts no matter how much fuel you throw at it. Spoolup is a little slower, egt's are higher than normal while cruising because you wont be spinning it fast enough. But there is plenty of top end power if thats all you need it for.

Industrial Injection has a . 87 wastegated exhaust housing for what they call a k31, which is the same as the 5000. Might be a nice option for a street truck.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just wanted to see if this was a viable option; there was never really much talk about it and trying to get any specs on it is like pulling teeth! I called ATS a ways back and all I got was "you need 500 hp to run it" wow... . I'm real impressed

I reread Douds article. it does not really cover the turbo in detail. it does say better for racing not towing. maybe you can pm him for details.

Just found prices on the K31 and Silver Bullet...   Looks like my number of choices just shrunk a little! If anyone else is interested in having a stroke, Performancedieselwarehouse has prices listed.

Where in the frick did the K31 come from? I JUST heard about the silver bullet a few weeks ago, and no one can tell me anything about it

The Silver bullet is the latest From II. I talk to Shane at II briefly on the bullet when getting the new price list,Brett will fill in the details. .

Jim is our dealer at T&C Diesel Performance and he is very up on what our turbo can do. He owns one and has made good hp with it. It has shown to be very driver friendly and performs well at low rpm also. Thanks

Ouch…they do want a fortune for that K31. Do you know what K31 part number you want? I may be able to get you one at half that.
