I have been looking for a used vp and was wondering if it really matters if the vp came off of a manual or automatic transmission. if so why?

yes there is an HO and SO VP$$. Each pump is calibrated differently. Buyer beware when shopping for used fuel injection pumps.

shop around prices seen to be coming down.

thank you. I was planning on buying a used one to send in to have remaned while I still use my truck. I wood like to have it over built so I don't have to worry about it again.
Oo.

There are a number of companies that make (or used to make) a "Hot Rod" VP-44 that increases fuel delivery. I don't know if this is what you mean by "over built. " The only ways to really increase VP reliability is a constant fuel pressure supplied by the lift pump (or FASS, or RASP, or whatever) and cool fuel to cool the internal electronics in the VP. There was a thread recently on TDR regarding a fuel cooler. You might want to check it out.

I believe I read that post. and in regards to the fass I installed one in march of this year so I shouldn't have a problem with fuel delivery. thank you for your info the hot rod is what I have been looking for but they're a lot more than I wanted to spend.
