Not sure if it all the really expensive cars, or the body shops over charging insurance claims that is affecting us all.

J, I can tell you exactly what it is!!! It's your insurance company bending you over. Get out the phone book and get some quotes from other insurance companies. You are paying way, way too much based on the truck you are driving.

That may be the average but the older of my two sisters is probably on the top end. She has had 5 accidents in the last 6yrs and only 1 that she didn't cause. With exception to the last 2, they have been minor ones. Totaled her Grand Am and later totaled her Nissan when she was hit by a gas delivery truck. He didn't see her as he was making a turn at a yield sign. Only thing that happened to the truck was a bent bumper. Some how survived both.

I find it interesting how some insurance companies factor your credit rating into your rates... .

I (38) use ACIA (AAA) for $1150/yr ('02 2wd 2500) with my wife (37) also on the policy. Both of us have clear driving records (for me, it's "finally"). Credit Union discount, multi-car, Home Owners, & TT on the policy.

'99 Taurus $975/yr, '02 Sunline $358/yr, Home ???

After reading this thread, I think I need to shop around!

had reliant for a year, cheap, but claims sucked. state won't let them sell here anymore they were so bad.

paying 600 every 6mo now, but outo owners treated me good whe i totalled my 97.

just found out i should have been getting a 5% discount on my collision since i've got abs, wife's van and kids car had it. i asked why. they said all ther rates are calculated off the vin now and it wasn't right. they'll fix it for this time but not go back to last year.

better news, benefits of being older... kid got an old honda, pl/pd is 335. listing me as principle driver on his ford focus, dropped it from 990 to 579. :D

I dont seem to seem many replies to this one from people out here in Ca... I guess we are all getting seriously screwed for our insurance. .

I am paying $533 every six months for my 02.

I looked around and it would cost over $800 every six months for anyone other than my currrent agent. (Allstate) I tired a couple of these online low cost places and they are nuts...

I have been with Geico since 98, with my 03, 3500 and my wife's 02 Grand Cherokee, we pay $1200/yr. :D They give several discounts and we just happen to pick many of them up.

I'm driving a 2500 QC, have a perfect driving record, over 40 and pay $1858 for Geico in Florida. The same truck and coverages in Utah were $1354. The thing is... the VW Golf (sporty car) I used to have was less to insure than the truck. When I asked why they said... "When that big truck hits something, it's gonna do a lot more damage to another vehicle than the Golf"

Man... they always gotta an answer don't they? Can someone please pass the vaseline?

Man you guys make me feel better about my $1440 a year with State Farm in the Dallas area.

And heck I have a claim on my policy already with this truck.

I put a nice long scratch on the passanger side 2 months old. First time I had ever claimed anything.

Mine is $555 every 6 months for my 03. I thought that was bad since my 00 Ford was only $388. I have my insurance with Farm Bureau. After seeing some of the rates yall are paying I feel lucky.
