I had the Autometer Ultralite mech. FP gauge in the MIL mount for awhile, usually jumped up to about 4-5 psi's at key on (wait to start) then fell back to 0. I replaced that gauge with the Autometer Ultralite boost/vac. gauge, to use in the same location for pre-filter FP. Now, at key on (wait to start) it jumps right to 16 psi's, then falls back to 0.
For anyone using a FP gauge and receiving erratic psi's, check your install. IMHO, the best location for post filter FP is at the outlet of the fuel filter. Even with a snubber line some have had a problem with erratic FP at the inlet to the VP44. I have my electric SPA sender mounted at the FF outlet, without a snubber line, works fine and has been for almost 1 year now. Just my $ 0. 02.
