Has anyone installed an Auto Meter Gauge fuel pressure gauge?. If so which one did you get? I want my fuel pressure gauge to match my boost gauge but Im not sure if the hookups that come with the gauge will be sufficient for my truck.

I have a 4362 which is the Ultra-lite series, full sweep, 0 - 15 psi fuel guage. These guages will go in any vehicle. All you need is to tap a fuel line (banjo bolt), and find a switched hot, ground, and a wire for the light.

I have the AM ulrtalite as well its the 4361 Electronic, I am having problems with it right now. It is just pegged at 15psi. The only time it moves is before I start my truck (waiting for the "wait to start" light to go out) then it goes to 4psi as soon as I start it it just peggs out for some reason.

Gauges

I see both you guys used the Auto Meter Pyro gauge also. My boost gauge is an Ultra Lite also. Which model pyro gauge did you go with and where did you drill for the probe? I noticed that auto meter has 2 different types of probes.

Sky if you still have paper that came with guage look and see if it states guage pointer can stop at any point +or - when light goes out will swing to last hi point then show PSI . you may have a pump going south? check with other guage if possible. Ron in Louisville ky

I read that Auto Meter was initiating a recall on select fuel pressure gauges that could malfunction, leak, or start a fire. Look into it. I got the notice from Summit, as they supplied the one we installed on the race truck.

I have the 4344. Works great!

My 4361 is also pegged at 15lbs, it's not the sending unit because i had them send me a second metal sender and it is still pegged at 15lbs. So back to the factory the gauge went. I'm waiting on it now. FYI- I am using a snubber

When you first put it in did bounce around like crazy? Thats what mine did and then it just pegged out. The wierd thing is when I turn the key and wait for the "wait to start light" go out it goes to 4psi. I'm interested what others FP guages read before they start it.

I had the Autometer Ultralite mech. FP gauge in the MIL mount for awhile, usually jumped up to about 4-5 psi's at key on (wait to start) then fell back to 0. I replaced that gauge with the Autometer Ultralite boost/vac. gauge, to use in the same location for pre-filter FP. Now, at key on (wait to start) it jumps right to 16 psi's, then falls back to 0.

For anyone using a FP gauge and receiving erratic psi's, check your install. IMHO, the best location for post filter FP is at the outlet of the fuel filter. Even with a snubber line some have had a problem with erratic FP at the inlet to the VP44. I have my electric SPA sender mounted at the FF outlet, without a snubber line, works fine and has been for almost 1 year now. Just my $ 0. 02.
