I'm looking to add some stuff to my truck here in the near future. Looking for a little bit more power and definitely picking up as much mileage as I can. Looking for some advice as to what to add to it. As of now I have no gauges on the truck. I'm looking to add some type of programmer / chip / what ever you want to call it and definitely some gauges based on what I've read on here so far.

I have been looking at the Edge Juice with Attitude. Are the gauge features in this product pretty accurate? And would this give me the reliable power and some extra mileage that I'm looking for?

I was also looking at adding a 3 gauge pod on the pillar with a boost, pyrometer, and fuel pressure gauge. I guess you could say I'm a bit partial to the Auto Meter gauges. We have used their stuff in our race trucks very successfully for 25 years now. They have some pretty good looking gauges now with different lighting features. Would it be worth it to add the gauges with the Edge Juice? The reason I ask is by looking at a lot of people's trucks on here and that I've seen around most people have regular gauges along with some sort of a chip.

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any replies.

I currently have a Juice/ Attitude in the truck and a full pillar of gauges. Honestly, I don't look at the Attitude much for anything other than fuel pressure. The numbers change and bounce so it's hard for me to get a grasp on where they are at. The gauges are easy to tell at a glance what's going on.

As far as accuracy, who knows which gauge is the closest? But on my truck, they are pretty close with the analog and digital.

I have also run other boxes, most recently the Adrenaline. Very impressed with it's performance. Just in case you are shopping.

We dyno'd a shop truck with a Juice/ Attitude and the Quad Adrenaline. And at the 450HP level, the quad did about 11 HP better. Single turbo. The Quad has great driveability and tons of tunes to select from.

But I still like my Juice. I will be switching back and forth with the Quad.

I already had a full set of guages when I purchased the Edge J/A. I like having two sets of guages to compare readings but I wouldn't spend the extra money if I didn't have to. The Edge has everything you need and the readings seem to be pretty accurate.

The truth is I rarely watch my guages since I got the Edge, the audible alerts pretty much make it unnecessary. Now and then I'll glance at the guages to reassure myself but it's nice to know that if something goes wrong I'll instantly be aware of it by the alarm beeping.

No more sitting/watching the EGT guage for the turbo to cool down, just jump out of the truck and forget about it, the turbo timer shuts it down for you.

I wasn't interested in getting massive power or torque gains so I didn't tap the pump wire, plus I want my stock transmission to last a little while longer. I'm happy with the power I get on levels one and two, makes the truck more enjoyable to drive.

Fuel mileage is inconsistent, on some tanks I've had a 2 mpg gain, others none. I think it depends on how heavy your foot is.

If you consider what you get with the Edge; guages, power enhancement, turbo timer, boost fooler, alarms, safety features, performance/parameter monitoring, the Edge is an excellent buy.

On the other hand, there are some things I would like to see Edge put on the J/A like; USB upgradeability, adjustable high idle, and password protected power level lock.

I've been running the Edge J/A for a while myself and love it, IMO its whatever you want, digital vs analog, both seem reliable and both do their job. as stated above by wlowe, he has some very good points that I was curious if edge was ever going to do myself, usb, password etc... definitely would love to see these upgrades in the near future

I have been using Edge Comp for years and I have got to say they have done a great job in taking care of any issues (even outside of warranty) ;). My brother in law has one on his 2006 Cummins and he loves it! The Edge Juice is a great choice and a great company to deal with! :D:D

Now as for Auto Meter, they are over priced for what you get and their customer service SUCKS  . I have been battling :-{} with them for years over an erratic fuel pressure gauge #@$%!. I supposedly got one of the first 0 to 30 psi electric ultra lite gauges before they hit the street. If the gauge stays between 50 degrees to 90 degrees it works fine. If it is cold it reads low, if it gets hot ( the dash lights generate enough heat to set it off) is reads high and even pegs. Yes I have tested it with a mechanical gauge to verify.

Try looking around for other gauge companies and ask people how they hold up. I got over $800 in gauges and the first gauges I bought for my truck in 2003 are DiPricol and they have preformed great. I would have bought DiPricol for my fuel pressure gauge but they didn't offer any at the time.

Just my 2 cents

I had both in my truck... eventually took the analog gauges out and stuck with just the Attitude (and my GPS). Having all that stuff up there really made the truck busy.

The Attitude will show you everything you need to watch (way more than analog gauges alone).

Thanks to everyone for the replies. That's what I was really looking for; advice from you guys who have used the stuff already. Still trying to decide what exactly I want to put in the truck. Thanks again though for the help!
