I'm installing an Auto Meter Ultralite gauge set on the A pillar prior to installing TST power. I got ready to do the module and thermo couple for the EGT and the directions say the numbers on the module and thermo couple have to be the same or I may get inaccurate readings. Are these the numbers on the end of the module and the blue tag on the thermo couple shielding? If they are then mine don't match. Problems? The EGT gauge already reads near100' without the module connected. The outside temp today isabout 92'. Is the gauge just picking up ambient temperatures?

I f you bought the gauge and the Thermocouple at the same time, you should be fine. Having the numbers match is really only imporatnt if there is a problem so they can diagnose it that way. As for Ambient tempature readings, that will happen, if there is voltage to the gauge, and its reading 100 degrees and it is about that outside, that is fine, it will read the air temp caused by anything. If you have any doubts about the mubers matching, give Autometer a call monday and ask them, they will help you with any issues.

I guess I should be OK then. The whole works came in one package from Geno's. Thanks. I only made one goof. I powered the gauge lights from an Ignition lead from the "Painless Wiring"

board (installed yesterday) not even thinking the gauge lights would be on in the day! I'll have to go back and find a lead off the

headlight switch. Duh!

I guess I'm OK then. I bought the whole set from Geno's.

By the way, I ran a temp probe back to the Mag-Hytech

and drove about 15 miles at 55 mph (not towing) and was getting

135' to145' readings. I wonder what the normal ranges are?

(5 spd--3:54--2X2--3500QC)

Thanks

I guess I'm OK then. I bought the complete set from Geno's.

By the way, I ran a lead to the Mag-Hitech then drove about 15 mi

at 55 mph and was seeing about 140 degrees on the temp gauge. I have a 3500QC with a 5 spd, 3:54, 2X2. I was not towing. I wonder what "normal" temp range is? Boost was showing 23 lbs maximun with a little gray smoke.

Thanks

Sorry about the # of replys. I kept trying to reply and the @*#&$%@ local server kept dumping me. I didn't know they were going through!
