i've got a friend with a 95 auto who wants to switch over to the 5spd and I was wondering who out there has done it or has any ideas on how much of a pain this might be.



Standard Transmission is selling a conversion kit for $2150 which has it all but the clutch pedal and slave cylinder. That price doesn't sound half bad but I wanted your guys thoughts/experience before I told him to do.



BTW... he called ATS about a beefy auto, but he really wants to get away from the automatic so please don't suggest a Triple Lock/BD/etc.

Does it include a South Bend Clutch, though? :D



It sounds like a pretty good deal. He might even be able to sell his auto trans to somebody converting the other way.
 
No SB but maybe since I found it for him that could be my payment!!!



Actually the guy will be my boss for the summer so it will be his signature that will be putting the SB in my truck this summer... .

:--) This cannot include the transmission! If it does, I'll take 5 please.
 
I was thinking that the 2150 price was for a Getrag to NV4500 swap? If its for the auto to manual I might even buy one:)
 
Well it is for the Getrag/NV4500 swap but how hard can the auto/NV4500 swap be?



You'll need on top of the kit:

-new driveshaft

-clutch (prob. gonna put a SB in anyway so big deal)

-new flywheel



Not as inclusive as I thought, but you should be able to scrounge all the above up for under $1k.
