Anybody tried to do an express down passenger window switch next to the driver's side switch? I was working on power windows today and I thought I would be able to just replace the regular switch with an "AUTO" switch. No such luck - the switch combo is all one big piece and it does not easily lend itself to such modification. Anybody?

My fingers still work pretty well.

I did not like some engineer telling me that the window was going to be either up or down. I want it where I want it, not usually down but open just a bit. Couldn't do it while driving so I removed the latching contact on the drivers window. That is also one reason I'll never buy a GM cause I want the headlights on when I want them on not all the time.

. Oo.

I know what you mean - the express switch on my 2000 was very sensitive and was difficult to lower without activating the express feature. Either my current truck is better or I've just learned to use it properly. If you're so against it maybe you could retrofit some old crank windows.

It seems to me that you could replace the pass switch with another AUTO-down switch so it'd work. BUT, what _I_ want is an auto-UP switch -- like my '88 Subaru XT6 had. That was awesome. Come out of a tollbooth or drivethru window and one-touch and let the thing go up. Nice and easy.

'Course I'm sure it's a liability issue waiting to happen, but still.

express auto UP

Rob-

I agree. My wife's Acura TL has the express up and I love it! It's not nearly as sensitive as the switch in my truck for normal versus express, but I did get used to the truck's switch eventually.

GM lights

Later model GMs have ability ot overide the auto light function. Press dome light botton 4 times. :) At least on the Suburbans and Tahoes.
