Competition Western Pennsylvania Diesel Pull, July 25

Competition Ran a 12.48 @ 109mph on Sat.

Call me crazy but I need a couple of opinions. The local truck pull is Friday night and I want to pull. Trouble is, I dont have the new trans yet. ( Not for another week) Is there anyway I can make a decent pull with the auto? I thought about running a set of 30% tread street tires to keep her spinning. The trans seems to not slip at all, and actually I have been pretty happy with it.

I thought that maybe I would leave it in second and just stab on it, so it wouldnt shift. I am open to suggestions. Sorry about the long post.

Back when i pulled with my stock auto i put it in low lock, shut the over drive off & let the trans shift to 3rd. With your mods you should be able to pull in 3rd or drive. good luck kurt.

when i did upgrades before the transmission, i only noticed slip in OD. i would think u would be ok for one or two pulls. It also depends on the sled you pull. if you can get it going from the line you should be ok.

Propuller, i was wondering if you've ever pulled on the high side of four wheel?

I know the sled driver, and it is a good sled. I am getting a full trans next week. But this pull is the closest to home so I have to try it. P. S It is in Nashville Illinois off of I 64 if anyone is interested. Thanks for the info propuller. Maybe we can run into each other sometime. I going to try drive, with the od locked out, I think I'll need that speed if I want to take it out.

If you really want speed rig up a lockup switch for the torque converter. When you get it going down the track in 3rd throw the lockup switch & you will fly. Caution this can be hard on transmission parts :( . I would love to meet you sometime possibly a pull in Amboy,Yorkville,Mendota,Milledgeville,Freeport just to name a few. see ya kurt.

Well good news. I won! I beat 15 trucks. A new ford, a few duramax's, and a hopped up 12 valver. The only bad news was that the 12 valver protested my weight bracket up front, and I had to drop the weights. Oh well I put 30 feet on him. And he got to pull twice. Somehow the auto held up again. God bless good luck. :D :

Yep, third low. It had plenty of power. I ran a set of radial 265's, and at the end the rear tires were wrinkled read bad. :D I think if iI could have built a little boost off the line I could have ran fourth though. But thanks for the tips, they sure helped. :)
