I have an 2003 Everest 5th wheel. When I deploy or take in the slides, the pump will stop and the switch is dead for 10-20 seconds, and it seems to be getting worse. It might take 5 or 6 attempts to put out/take in the slides. The owners manual for the slides shows a wiring diagram for an automatic resetting fuse, that must be installed within 18 inches of the battery on the hot wire of the pump motor. I suspect this fuse needs replacing, but I'll be darned if I can find it. It is supposed to be in the cable that runs from the pump motor to the battery. The pump, motor and batteries are all in the same compartment, and the only fuse I can find is for the front jacks. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

In most trailers the circuit breaker is mounted on the side of the battery box and can be encased in a plastic box... mine were all that way on my trailer... I pulled all the circuit breakers and found a lot of loose connections...

A overloaded circuit breaker will pop, and than reset from overheat... . this over heating is usually caused by one of 3 causes... . 1 - over load, 2 - undercharged battery, 3 - loose connections...

A loose connection will over heat... and trip the breaker... . or you might have a loose connection at the battery or the pump...

Another test would be to have a volt meter across the battery when you start the pump... . If when you start and run the pump for more than 5 seconds and the battery voltage drops below 11 volts and stays there, you either have too much draw in the circuit... (test with a amp meter) or you have a battery that doesn't have enough capacity or is under charged... . or loose connections...

One last thought... . and thank you dave for the photo... . the terminals are different colors because these items are directional... . the load is attached to one terminal and the battery is connected to the other terminal... as I remember with out turning one over and looking at the markings the copper terminal is the battery connection and the silver connection is the load...

I have an Arctic Fox with 2 slides. The main slide was tripping the reset multiple times, usually with retraction. Slide out powered by Power Gear. Replaced circuit board and "breaker" without success. Culprit finally identified as motor. Replaced. Works fine now.

First on your trouble shooting steps would be to check the amp draw as Jelag mentioned and if the amp draw is less than the rating of the resetting fuse then its questionable. Don't bypass it, replace it with a good fuse and recheck operation, if it still trips then check other options. Make sure you have a fully charged/good battery.
