HTT's new turbo's????

injector pump timing tooth problem

I have a 98 2 wheel drive automatic and have had several automatic problems, and was thinking about converting the truck to a NV 4500 and was wondering what all had to be changed and if anybody had a list of parts that I would need to do the conversion. Also, how hard of a job is it to do the conversion. Let me know. Thanks.

My 98 2 wheel 12v I bought new. 35K and the torque converter went. Got an after market torque converter from Sun Coast in Ft Walton Beach in FL and had a Tran. shop I know to be OK people install it. The Torque converter Dodge puts in is a cheap sheet metal stamping. The one I had put in was machined from a solid billet and weighed 30 pounds while the stamping weighes 13. 40% more clutch area and I am approaching 104K and no problem at all. I believe there never will be a problem and I tow once in a while. Before a Motorcycle on a trailer was too much for the Dodge tran. , it would slip on level ground. What a piece of S**T. Ocasionaly I tow a car on a flatbed trailer (all 4 wheels up on he trailer) for over a thousand miles up some of the steepest hills and never a problem. Thought I would throw this at you incase you really don't want a stick. I hear they do not last anywhere near as long as a built up automatic and are more expensive to rebuild. I use 100% synthetic ATF in mine and since it runs cooler I doubt there will be any problems. I plan to keep the truck, it will last longer than me. -- email address removed --
