My torque converter has been slipping for a couple weeks and it just keeps getting worse so I am trying to decide if I want to convert the truck to a 5-speed or just add a new conveter & valve body. The prices from ATS come out to about $2100 for parts and I'm still not sure if I really want an auto. Like to shift and keep my rpm's down when I can. Plus I pull a livestock trailer oonce or twice a week and am wanting to go up to the 400-500H. P range some day. I need to know what parts it will take to make the conversion and their cost. I know I'll need the transmission, bell housing, clutch and pedal assembly. I'm sure I'm missing some things though. Any help appreciated. Thanks

I did the conversion, kinda wish I had a DTT automatic now, but I like the 5-speed. You will need a new engine wiring harness, and CPM, steering column, slave cylinder and resevoir, new driveshaft. a few dash parts, new throttle assembly at the pump, or it really depends on how professional you want it to look. Other than a few wires I had to solder on, you can't tell mine was ever an auto. I had another guy I traded with, so we pretty much sat our trucks side by side and switched everything over. If you need any other questions answered, lemme know, but I would seriously look into a DTT first. Just my . 02
