I am looking into putting a nv 4500 into my truck to replace the 3 speed auto the question i have is does anyone know if the pedal assembly from a ramcharger will work in a ram 250

thanks

The 81-93 style pick ups and Ramchargers are basically the same. There some minor differences between years on some parts so try to stay close to your year if possible to avoid hassles. There aren't too many Ramchargers with manual transmissions, but lots of pick ups. The pedals are the same from a 1/2 ton 1 ton.

What about the 71-79 era rigs? Will those pedals also swap? I'm doing the same conversion... and I already ahve a set fo those pedals.

What about clutch linkage? When did Ma Mopar switch to the hydraulic clutch systems?

The kit i am looking at comes with the hydraulic system so not sure about the rest of the linkage or the change to the hydraulic system

On Getrag rigs: Does the bellhousing bolt up directly to the block or is there an adaptor between?

Secondly, does the NV4500 bolt up directly in place of the Getrag unit? IOW, does the NV4500 bolt up directly to the Getrag bellhousing, use the same clutch, same crossmember, same shifter, same output shaft/driveshaft? So if I was going to gather parts for the swap would I need everything from a Getrag rig... except the actual transmission itself?

From what I understand for a getrag replacement you will need a new bellhousing, a tcase shifter bracket, pilot bearing, and a shift handle, and a tran mount all of the clutch all of your current clutch stuff should work

I know that you can get the belhousing adaptor from advanced adaptors

the pedals are different 88-93 then on the older trucks but they can be made to work. They do not have the braket welded on for the master cyl. push rod.

I made the braket for my clutch pedal

"Mad Max" is going from an auto to a manual, hence no clutch stuff from the old. I'd almost say see how a NV4500 belhousing and all would fit. I've been told that starter spacing is tight if you go with 2nd Gen stock stuff, though. I know lots of guys have used the AA adaptor/ bellhousing to go between the Getrag flywheel adaptor to the NV4500.

The Getrag has an adaptor between it and the block. The block is actually very narrow.

You can use a Sachs clutch (actually preferred). Hafta get different cross member, shifter, slave cylinder assembly, etc. You would actually be better off with the Getrag. It is all stock for your year, and from what some guys here have said, is no worse than the NV4500 (remember, 5th gear, and oil is hard to find for the NV4500)

If you go with the Getrag, you will need the slave cylinder bracket that installs inside the cab, and you will probably need a center hump from a stick. Going through that right now, cutting the floor out of the auto to make room for the stick floor.

No experience with the NV4500, I dont know what all is interchangeable or what would work.
