I have a 1995 2WD 2500 regular cab. I picked up an NV4500 from a 1994 2WD 2500 regular cab complete with everything I thought I needed. I'm supposed to have it installed tomorrow and I thought I might ought to measure the length to make sure my drive shaft would work like I was told it would. I know the yoke for the transmission end is different, I have it from the '94. From what I can see the NV4500 is somewhere around 5 1/2" SHORTER than the auto. This means the drive shaft will not work.

Will someone who has done this PLEASE let me know if the auto drive shaft will work with the NV4500. If it will not, what do you think about going with a one peice drive shaft?

Thanks,

Scott

You don't want to go with a one piece drive shaft. With the amount of torque

the Cummins makes you will constantly have vibrations. I think it would be in

your best interest to figure out what length you need for the front shaft. I

know you just want it done but, trust me from experience with my old Ford

PowerJoker with a GearVender shaft. Again, I'm not sure about your shaft with 2wd on my 4wd I kept the same one.

On a different note: How did your hole cut on the floor turn out?

H,

Thanks for the reply. I'm leaving the hole to the tech that's installing it. He said he would have no problem. He also said that he would take care of the drive shaft for me, probably take the front half from the '94 and put it with the rear half from my '95 with a new carrier bearing and u-joints and rebalance it.

Thanks again,

Scott

Scott,

Good deal on the drive shaft! My writing skills don't permit me to express

how pleased you're going to be with your nv4500 project when its done...

So if you have any questions or run into any challenges drop me a PM

and I'll try to help the best I can.
