98/24v 73,550miles- tran started kicking in and out of overdrive around 45mph. changed oil and filter for tran and had dealer reboot - no help - several days later it has stop doing what it had been doing. I didn't have any problem on a quick acc. only while driving at a normal acc. and around 45 it would attempt to go in and then out and finally in overdrive. Dealer has no idea what the causes is other than to start swapping out parts at my cost. Any body out there who has had the same problem or idea of cause, please let me know.

Chect the TPS. The problem may go away with just hosing it down with contact cleaner and cleaning the connector.

Why does that not surprise me? Joe G. is right, sounds like a TPS. Take it off and hose the backside of it down with quick dry electronic cleaner. I bet this will fix you right up and it doesn't cost anything to try. If it doesn't work, try replacing the transmission temp sensor. You can get them at NAPA and avoid the dealer screwing, since it sounds like that's what they were warming up to give you.
