when these Auto's fail, how do they typically fail? do they just die & you get no warning & no movement? do they start slipping or maybe the OD goes & then another gear or ????

thanks

It really all depends on what fails. If a gear goes(clutches burn out) or a seal or both it will either not engade or if it does you might have limited gear selection. Electronics I guess are a better failure simply because they are easier to take care of. It really just all depends again as to what goes in the transmission that is all releated you your original question since all the components gears and bands work in conjuction with one another.
