Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) auto trans getting flaky

Hello,

Have not posted here in a while.

I have a 98 24 valve with auto trans, nearly 100 K miles.

It just started to shift erratically rarely but I am concerned.

Only when going up a slight grade and after shifting to 3rd with OD off will it go back to 2nd for a very short period and then back to third usually once, rarely 2 timed.

What could this be and what should I do about it.

The fluid is clear and no burnt smell and is full. Have not changed fluid in a while but I have a spin on filter.

do a search on Noise Filter and you will find the fix for it. My 01. 5 47re started to do that under light throtle. Put a DTT Noise Filter (under $50 and less than 5 minute install) on and it has not done it in 40k miles.
