Auto Trans. Hunting

I know this has been discussed before, but I can't find the threads. My auto hunts at 35 mph and 45 mph. It can't seem to decide where it wants to be. It only does it at these speeds when I'm trying to hold it steady. There's no difference with O/D off. Is this anything to worry about?

Same here. Late at night is my best lurking time. Hey, this thread is turning into our personal chat room.

I checked Bill's site, but I didn't see anything that seemed to be my situation. I know others have posted about this, I just don't remember if it's normal or not. The trans. is fine otherwise.

Dave, my trans has never done that. It picks a gear and until it needs to upshift or the pedal is on the floor it stays in that gear which is always overdrive if I let it. Dad had a similar thing on his '95 and was the throttle position sensor. I think that I would trade you trannys though. My TC clutch is smoked. Won't hold if you nail it in OD. Just waiting for the time to get it fixed. Being without my truck sucks!

... I have a 5 speed so can't tell you about any transmission experiences I've had.

Don't worry, Paul. It's nothing that will keep me from driving it. I just want to clear up these little things while still under warranty. By the way, I should be e-mailing an update in a few days on 2/17. I'm waiting a couple more days to hear from a couple of guys. It's looking good, though. #ad

Yep, I believe there is a TSB on this and can't find it in my messy desk right now. BTW it is snowing up here in the "Bay" area now, then it rains, and... , its a mess. Good to see more WI signatures

dave there is a tsb for some problem with shifting woes , since you are stock maybe you need to have this checked , do a searrh for the topic.
