auto trans. interchange?

The only gas engine the deisel trans will bolt up to is the V-10. As amatter of fact the 94 parts book calls out the same trans and torque converter assembly for the V-10 and the Cummins. No wonder the stock torque converters suck so bad behind the diesels.

Does anybody know if an automatic transmission from a diesel truck will bolt up to the back of a gas engine?
