Well I'm about to test my extended warranty. 73k miles, no bombing, truck goes in next week to the stealer. Does anyone have advice or questions I might ask. Trans has been flawless, till now. Last week I noticed at 50 mph in o. d. trans would shift down or slip for seconds at a time, rpm's would go up about 300 to 400.

Within days it got worse. Now it does it between 40 to 70 mph. I even left it out of o. d. and noticed it acting up. Had fluid and filter changes at 25k,50k, and planned on 75k. Have not even abused the thing, I pull 6k boat. Gauges are top of the list, but do not have any history on trans temp. Just thought you guys might have some tips on my trip to the stealer

;) Thanks in advance.

A friend had a similar problem on his 99 at 60k miles. The stealer did a reflash on the ECm and it actualy fixed the problem. Hard for me to understand how the transmission slipping could be a computer problem.

When you had the trans fluid changed did you check the band and adjust it if it was out of spec?

Mine band was way out after 20K and I did not pull any loads or have any mods. I noticed slipping from 2 to 3. I upped the presure and adjusted the band when I changed the fluid. Problem solved Thanks to DTT's help.

Good luck with the dealer!

All you need is the reflash for the control module. My '99 did exactly the same thing--reflash fixed it and no problems since.
