I'm looking to do 47RE to NV5600 swap and was just curios as to what kind of problems to look for? Electrical, Mechanical, Ect. Do I need to swap ECM's also? Any assistance with this is much appreciated! :D
 
I know a few guys that have done the swap and are still running there stock PCM. No need to swap ECM. If you need a 6spd flywheel i have a few here. .
 
Straightforward ?. Nothing is ever that simple. I put an auto in my manual. Just details. You will have to get your driveshaft(s) length changed. You will need a new trans mount. You will need to put a spacer in your starter. Of course you will have interior details as well. As far as the electronics, I am not sure as I went the other way.
 
The drive shafts need to be lengthened? Is the trans mount the same just in a different location, or all together different? All the help is appreciated!
 
I swapped a NV 5600 for a 47RH. My rear shaft had to be lengthened. Yours should be the opposite. The trans mount was different. Not just relocated.
 
I converted my 47RE to a NV4500 in my '01. Still have both my PCM and ECM but no cruise control, I think the PCM may need to but replaced with one that is the same year and trans. I did have to cut a hole in the floor for the shifter but nothing to bad. The electrical is not bad for the back-up lights. If you have any questions PM me.
 
So this sounds like it is really a pretty easy swap, just new driveshafts, and a new trans mount, and possibly a pcm if I want to keep cruise control. Thanks alot for the help it's much appreciated!
 
You guys taking out your auto, I have a 98. 5 5 spd 3500 4x4 that I am thinking about swapping for an auto in mine. Where are you all at? I am in northeast Texas and might be interested in buying or swapping pieces.
