auto transmission capicity

How much fluid does the transmission hold i looked in the manual and it does not tell you, i just had it changed when i had all the gauges put on but the guy who did it only put in 4quarts that does not seem to be enough.

It takes 16 qt.

I mean when you just drop the pan, not all the fluid that is in the tc.

Not positive, but I believe the TC only holds 4 or 5 quarts. Either way, just add a quart at a time, checking your fluid level with the dipstick and you'll get there. Make sure you go for a little drive when you're finished and then check the level again.

The method I use is to measure how much I drained out and put that much new stuff in. Always right on the mark.

I just dropped my pan and changed the filter a few weeks ago. I got about 9 1/2 quarts out of it.

Just changed mine and got 7 quarts exactly. Measured what I took out, 7 quarts. I think the best way for you would be to just use the dip stick since they already changed your fluid. Remember to do it with the transmission at operateing temps.

pan drop is a minimum of 6 qts , check your fluid level NOW park level; , engine at operating temp , trans in neutral .
