I was wondering if anybody would be interrseted in different gear ratios for reverse and low for the 47 series auto trannys. it would provide better backing and takeoff with heavy trailors. just wondering. :)

I thought the same thing a while back. The 2. 45 first gear is really tall. A 2. 75 first gear would work much better.

Yes I agree, thats why we are working several differnt combanitons. should be "torque"testing them in a couple of weeks. we got one around 280 to be tested first. will post back when done.

Not sure what the difference is with the new stuff. But Mopar Makes a 2. 72 and 1. 54 second gear set for the 727. I have the low gear set in the 904 thats in my car. Not a very big difference. But I am drag racing with it not pulling heavy loads lol.

Badfish,we gust got the trans back in the 65 valiant with the slant six. it ran 15. 26 with the stock trans, now with the full manual valvebody, trans brake, low gear set,4000 stall converter. hope it turns in the 13. 00,s. the motor has 11. 1 pistons, fully ported and polished head, milled 90 thous,528/292 cam and a few more tricks. if that dont work then it,s NOS time!!:D

There used to be a guy that raced a full tubed Plymouth Signet with a /6 motor in it. It ran 11. 80s all day long. Pretty sweet little car. Sounds like you have alot of work done to your Leaning tower of Power ;)
