I have a 98. 5 4wd 2500 automatic,

The truck is shaking between 50 to 70 mph, I was told it was the torque conv.

Has anyone gotten the service bull. flash for this problem, and did it help?

OR:

Can anyone give me a good reference in the Los Angeles County area where I could get a Heavy duty trans and Torque Conv.

I upgraded to 300 hp with 550 lbs of torq. (Banks)

Thanks in advance.

Bellflower Transmission, (562) 867-5240 talk to Bob. They are a Great ATS Installer. Very knowledgeable. Or, if you are near a Cummins Cal Pacific, they are also ATS installers, although I am not yet convinced from what you have posted that your problem IS your TC.

You say your truck is shaking between 50 & 70. Perhaps you have a wheel or tire balance problem, or a driveshaft or u-joint problem. We need more information before the shaking problem can be pinned down to your TC or trans. Does it do the same sort of shaking when OD is off? Your TC probably locks up at about 45 or so, does it start to shake immediately upon locking up when given pedal? Please be more specific, and don't panic just because someone said it was your trans.

Thanx for reply guys, been out of town for a week.

After doing more reading, I believe I will start by testing my lift pump.

The problem was noticed only when I had my camper on and pulling my boat, now it is with no load.

It definitly is not a wheel or drive shaft problem. If I let up on the pedal it stops. When I excellerate it feels like it's missing, at about 40 to 70 mph, it doen't do it in the lower speeds, yet!

I think I'll take it in and have it dyno tested first.

I'll keep the transmission info for when I'm sure.

Don't rule out the drive shaft universals until you check them. My truck had a " miss " and I though it was an injector, after checking the injectors it turned out to be a bad universal. Rear driveshaft front joint.
