Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) auto transmission kickdown

my auto kicks down into 3rd but if you push it to the floor it will go to second any ideas?

At what speeds? What circumstances? Give more details.

should have said from 57 down to 50 in Fourth gear it kicks down to 3rd gear then if you hold it to the floor it will go to second

If you're off the throttle from 57 to 50 mph then it's doing it' normal downshifting procedure and unlocking, even my transmission does it... i doubt what your feeling is going into 2nd gear though at 50 mph remember you have 3rd UNLOCKED and 3rd LOCKED... . 4th unlocked and then 4th LOCKED... clean your TPS out with electrical cleaner {spray} and then check your fluid level... good luck
