I do a lot of shifting with my transmission, primarily from drive to neutral while sitting at red lights (which there is a lot of on my way to and from work). I also shift from second gear occasionally. Recently I've noticed that it seems harder to shift the column lever. I was wondering if there is a way to lubricate the shift linkage. I reviewed the shop manual and I've looked at the linkage and I don't really see much to lube. Has anyone experienced similar problems and found a way to resolve them? I thought about spraying the shift column under the hood with something like white lithium grease in a spray can but I'm not sure that would be a prudent thing to do - any advice other than going to the dealer? Thanks.
