auto transmission probem

i am having trouble with my ato transmission,,,if i start out in drive it want to go drive and lock up very quickly and drags the motor down,,kinda like forgetting a mystery switch on,,,if i drop it into 2`nd it clears up. With the OD switch on,,(letting OD come on) it sometimes will shift from drive to OD still locked.
It seems worst when its real cold outside,,(i`m in Ontario,Canada,,,it`s pretty cold)
I noticed too,,,that it doesn`t want to unlock even when i tap the brakes,,not all the time though. Seems that when it`s all warmed up the problem is not has bad or as often.
The transmission has been done 1 year ago,,,it has a Dunnrite converter and Transgo diesel shif kit. Line pressure and boost valve have been upped.
Anyone have any ideas,,i`m getting a little sick of these auto problem and i know the stnd isn`t any better...
I dont mind spending some money on this thing if someone can make this thing bulletproof reliable.
There isn`t one single person who knows these trannies anywhere around here. .
I`ll fly this **** thing anywhere if i have to.
Sorry for the long post but this thing has me seriously looking at that Duramax Allison.

Hooter 69, it sounds like your tv valve circut is not set up properly, ie) kick down cable mis-adjusted or not even hooked up, ive seen that a time or two. Someone may have also installed the wrong tv valve spring for your particular application. It is not uncommon to have to go up into your valve body to change the tv valve spring.
You do not have to remove the valve body to change the spring. If you have a pressure gauge i can tell you how to check it out.

PS , while its ok for the average customer to use the term bullet proof ,if ANY shop or technician promises you bullet proof, run away as fast as you can from there.

I'll second that, there's no such thing as bullet proof #ad
And although a Cummins may be slower than a speeding bullet, it has more torque

Hey guys,,,appreciate all your help,,,,altough i understand that i probably wont be able to make the transmission bulletproof,,,i just want it to be reliable,,,i don t abuse the truck that much but i do tow a 10,000lbs trailer full of race bikes and equipment all over the place and i hate being broke down in the middle of nowhere,,
As for my transmission problem,,the transmission worked great when all the work was first done,,this little problem has only been going on for about a month now,,since the snow and cold hit.
I did have a problem with the boost valve filling up metal particules and making the shift into drive difficult,,,changed the oil,install new boost valve and i was ok again,,
Maybe i should pull the pan and see if the metal particules are back,,,,i need this thing tombe ready for Daytona in a month or so...
Who can i call for help on this???
Like is said before,,i want it done right once and for all. .
