Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) auto transmission question

Has this ever happened to any one my transmission does not shift at all. It goes into reverse and drive fine but will not shift out of first. 99 2500 4x4. thanks for the help.

Sort of not zactly. Mine wouldn't downshift to first, kept starting off in second. They had to replace the shift solinoids twice, seems they got a bad batch in and not many manufacturers to choose from. Might have them check the shift solinoids.

Not sure the Dodge transmission has these, but on both a Chevrolet and Ford I have experienced a similar problem after we went 4 wheelin', There was a little connector on the side of the transmission that was a sensor of some sort that allowed it shift into the higher gears. This probably doesn't apply right now, but its worth a look.
