I recently experienced issues with my 47RE auto transmission rapidly hunting between 3rd and 4th gears under light accelerator pedal demand when my DTT transmission controller was turned off. So I started thinking dirty connectors or ground points. I popped the hood and immediately noticed the battery positive posts/cables were very dirty and had a good bit of corrosion. I removed both batteries for cleaning, cleaned the posts, cables, lugs and battery trays and re-installed. This solved my problems completely.
There are numerous posts within the site about dirty grounds and electrical interference casuing transmission shifting issues, but I wanted to post my experience as it was a little different that some others I have read. I do want to give credit to all who have posted threads about transmission shift problems as they relate to electrical system as they led me in the right direction, so thanks TDR and TDR Members.
