Auto Transmission shudder

Right around 45 MPH my transmission gives a small shudder, the tack needle jumps slightly, and the trans temp light flashes along with the bell. Problem is this only happens occasionally. Today it happened about 6 times, until I increased speed to about 50. Then all was fine. What happens around 45, is it the converter lock up? The transmission seems to hunt. All is stock.
