Hey guys,

I, like alot of others here, am in desperate need of transmission upgrades - way too much power for the stock equipment.

I would like to hear from ANY AND ALL that have BOMBed and upgraded their transmission. Please give your set-up and thoughts/opinions - no flaming or vendor bashing please.

Also, check out the thread in the Local Events forum about the Auto transmission seminar coming up in TX.

ok , i'll bite .

2000 2500 4x4 , auto of course , 275's ,VA , Hot PE , JRE 4" with dynomax race magnum , amsiol in the stock air box , DTT 91% TC and 82 psi VB , with a mag hytec pan .

things were good before the trans upgrade , but my 1/4 mile times were a bit unimpressive , after the trans upgrade i was a bit slower without building any boost , but building boost and launching in 4wd to get traction ( DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME ,I AM A TRAINED PROFESSIONAL )i was a half second faster .
BEFORE 15. 48 @88. 98 with a 2. 3 60 foot
AFTER 14. 94 @88. 47 with a 1. 94 60 foot.
this is at 6700 lbs. and the STOCK tires .

driving impression , a bit sluggish if i gun if from a dead stop , but once the rpms reach about 1600 its a different story , i do notice that if i am cruising on the highway and let my foot off the throttle that the rpms are higher than before the TC swap and the big rpm drop before the new TC when lockup applied has now become hardly noticeable , i can tell mostly by the change in my exhaust tone , the rpm drop is about 100 rpm vs the 400 plus before , this tells me that i am ruuning more efficent now than stock , as should be the case .

Here's mine:

2000 3500 4X2,Auto,275s,VA,JRE 4",K&N in stock air box, DTT TC and VB, Mag-Hytec pan.

Before transmission upgrades I only had the VA so I can't compare with the current setup. Before, takeoff was a little sluggish. Rpms would build til around 1500 until the truck would get to rolling. Now, you touch the accelerator and your gone. Shifts are nice and firm as they should be. Lockup is hardly noticeable. I got on a side road and floored it and it kicked into OD at 75mph. Before, you could let off the brake at idle and the truck would barely move. Now you let off the brake and you are moving. I haven't had any chance to tow with it yet, but I know that it will not be a problem. I'm very satisfied with the product and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

here's mine

Look at my signature for truck specifics.
Also have 275's, EZ, and soon the HOT PE.
Before transmission mods, taking off from a dead and flooring it, would light up the rear end. RPM's jump up fast, and boost hits 20 immediately. Great for racing, not so great for efficiency in towing.

Afterwards, take off from a stop, immediate power, and gets rolling fast. Doesn't light up the rear, unless I power brake to get the boost up. But power is immediate, as it is getting to the rear. Towing is 100% improvement.
Before, towing was not fun. The TC slipped everywhere, even in lockup with current mods.
Afterwards, no slip at ALL, and towing is a joy. Power is there, and even pulling 5-6000lbs, truck doesn't care, power comes on when you tell it to.

RPM's, lockup is less than 75 RPM, shifts are firm, and precise.
Typo, it is not 1000 RPM, just 75 RPM. I don't want to confuse anyone.

Got to tell you, the DTT TC and VB were the untimate treat after injectors and VA. Prior to the transmission mod, the powere just wasn't going to the ground.

Pin Sap, the DTT(Diesel Transmission Technologies) Torque Converter and Valve Body are available directly from DTT, or you can e-mail me directly, and I can set you up.
For information about DTT go to:
http://www.dieseltrans.com

What is involved is pulling the transmission, replacing the TC, and dropping the pan, and replacing the valve body.

Depending on where you live, finding someone to install it is all you need.
