i am long time reader and have owned several diesel goats. as you see i am first time poster, but always enjoy the fantastic info pasted along throughout. my present rig a 00-3500 with 23k and auto,is on the way to DC for a TC and possible entire trans replacement. i let the mechanic do a test blast in it fully loaded (30' gooseneck and big green tractor on top). he stated the stall speed was way out of line, with the motor being within a notch of redline before the truck wants to roll. the truck does not want to downshift properly when loaded either. the funny thing is that unloaded it almost breaks the tires loose on the pavement through the shifts. my pasts rides have been sticks and i realize the personalities of the two are vastly different. i am looking for advice from anyone who may have had to take their rig back in for near the same reasons and should i expect to see any positive results from the fix they are proposing. anything i should pass on to mechanic before he rips her down? does DC have any upgrades/updates for these type of problems. thanks

00-3500,auto,4:10grs,lots of chrome, no bombing as yet, figured with all the mods and money dumped into previous trucks this one will ride stock a while.

Get the new transmission in and BOMB it. From what you are pulling the stock auto doesn't stand a chance. Get a valvebody in it immediately and a new TC asap. If it were my money I would buy DTT upgrades. JMHO. Welcome aboard and I hope you get it fixed soon.

First, welcome aboard. I imagine most of the replies are going to be the same. If your transmission isn't holding up to what you're pulling, go ahead and pay the money and contact DTT. There's a reason most of the replies are going to be the same, DTT is simply the best. As they say, it's hard to get what you pay for but you almost always pay for what you get. Spend a little more and only do the job once.

Go with DTT I have, and do not regret it. It will make all the difference in the world and give you peace of mind. Bill Kondolay is a super person to deal with and knows more about our tranys than anyone I know.

Does anybody know of a good transmission man/shop in the Portland Oregon metro area. I'm seriously considering the DTT VB and TC. I do not really have the time to drive up to B. C right now.

I was going to go with the BD set up, but it seems the DTT is getting great reviews here.

If you can take the time to visit beautiful Abbotsford B. C. it will be well worth the 4 hour drive.

And you will have the piece of mine knowing it is done perfect.

How far is it from Seattle? I'm 3+ hours south of there. I figured more like 5 or 6 from here to there and would have to stay the night. Work + kids + little league = no time till summer.

For Auburn WA (30 miles so of Seattle) it is apx. 125miles to Abbotsford.

And well worth the ride. it takes about 2 hours and 1 1/2 after upgrades #ad
