Archived Auto won't shift from first gear

On my 2000, the transmission will not shift from first gear into second gear itself. If I run it up to about 2500 rpm and let my foot off the 'go' pedal I can feel it shift into second gear and then I can drive as normal. Sometimes it goes back into first gear when I do this. But if not, from second into third gear and third into fourth gear, no problems. Fluid level is good. Does not matter if engine cold or hot. Help.

The pressure sensor is probably bad. A transmission shop will charge you about 150. 00 plus parts for the R&R. It is located above the valve body.
