I have been looking into purchasing a 2001 Dodge Ram just like mine but with the auto transmission and ETC.

They are selling it cheap as the OD clutches are out of it and I want to know who has the best full transmission torque conveter out there?

DTT?

ATS?

DunRite?

Sun Coast?

Folks, this really is a serious question. Please try to keep the answers on topic and technical!

I think 'best' will depend on the power put through the trans. If the engine puts out stock power or relatively near stock, probably almost any of them will be quite sufficient. If the engine power is vastly increased, the answer will likely be quite a bit more subjective.

Another transmission thread! I like DTT,there are others, but for me they are the best. I dont think another company has the total package that they do,or the reputation for customer service.

Only you can answer your own question. Call all the trans re-builders.

Talk with each one about their product. You will have to do some homework.

Talk with TDR guys who have gotten these upgrades. Take your time and be thorough, and you will begin to get a feel for whose product you like.

That's what I did. I ended up going with ATS, and I have never been happier.

I've got 13,000 miles on the complete Stage IV re-build, and it is everything I was promised++. It is really great being able to drain the TC, when I change fluid, and the performance of the TC is awesome! By the way, you left out Goerends, in St. Lucas, Iowa. They make a good product too.

Here is a link to what happened to me when I went to Denver to ATS, last April and got my trans done. They let me accompany my trans throughout the process and watch it being torn down and re-built. It was great!
