The other day I decided to do something I never do and I turned off my automatic rearview mirror. When I did that I felt a ch=runch in the switch and now it won't ever come back on again. If I push the button in, it lights up, then comes right back out again. Holding the button in doesn't make the mirror work either (cheap fix with tape). The service manual says that it is a complete unit and can't be repaired. I don't want to have to buy a new one, but it does get annoying sometimes driving at night. Does anyone know how much one of these costs to replace? Who else sells them besides the *******?

I like the look of tinted widows but I can't see a damn thing out of them. The automatic mirror is the same deal, you can't judge distance as well when it's tinted. All I see is 2 sources of light. INMHO, the auto mirrors tint to much.

I prefer mine OFF until needed.

Looks the same to me, but you might double-check the p/n. Either that or you could get an aftermarket one from Geno's or from a salvage yard.

Is the automatic mirror actually supposed to DO something? Mine never has, which may be caused by the shell on the bed. Annoying though. One day I'll just replace it with the kind with a flipper.

Mine turns green when lines shine in it. Works pretty good. I don't use the rearview that much other to make sure the trailer is still there. :)
