Automatic Phone Calls?

Hey Guys,

My 8.4AN system has typically worked reasonably well with my iPhone to play music and occasionally make a phone call. Recently, every time I get in the truck, the 8.4AN system shuts off my music and starts the "call timer" as though I was on the phone - but I'm not. It THINKS a call is happening even when it's not. The resulting problem is that I can't listen to the radio with my phone turned on. If I shut off the phone or **** off the bluetooth on the phone, everything works fine. Oh, I also can't listen to music from my phone, because the truck is "tuned" to the phone call rather than the music...

Is this a new 8.4AN bug? Or have you heard of it before?

I don't have that problem, but my 8.4A doesn't recognize my 'phonebook' one day, yet will recognize it the next. Frustrating at times.

I am able to resolve 8.4 issues by disconnecting both batteries for a short period of time. I was told it's similar to powering down or rebooting a PC.*

I have had that same problem 2 different times. What I found is if you hit the "Transfer" button on the 8.4AN phone screen it fixes itself. It may not be a permanent fix but at least you can listen to the radio. The other fix is to reboot your iPhone.

The 8.4 in my Durango has been flawless aside from a amp tuning issue specific to that car. Phone connectivity is excellent. I would disconnect everything and redo as JHawes said. I would also see about a update/flash.*

Have you tried deleting and then re-pairing the phone to the 8.4? *Also, there was a radio software upgrade around 2015. My wife's Jeep had a similar experience problem and the software fix took care of the issue. She was also dropping calls and also having the radio switch from the radio to the phone in the middle of a call. *
