Auto transmission Fluid Change

Can't help you with the fluid change since my I can't stand slush boxes but What I have heard is that you can DIY (do it yourself) by starting her up with one of the cooler lines unhooked and by putting the transmission in neutral (I think), it will pump the old stuff out.

BTW - Welcome aboard and remember the only dumb question is the one you forgot (or affraid) ask.

Welcome, Pabruckman. Don't be shy about your questions.

I do my own filter changes. I just drop the pan and change the filter. You can get more fluid out by loosening the valvebody a little bit too. You can also get more out with the procedure mentioned by BV. From what I've heard, those machines can actually stir things up and damage your transmission. Also - why wouldn't anyone change the filter on a fluid change? Makes no sense to me.

Another thing you may want to try is to get together with some other Utah members for some help if you need it. Most of the guys in the TDR love to help each other out with projects, and it's great fellowship.

Good luck and post again!
