Prolly some overeducated Hilljack, dressed in John Deere green. ;)

Some of those hilljacks know quite a bit about tractor pulling, and setting up pumps, ONE of them at least has to know about trannies. :p ;)

and by the way, THERE AINT NOTHING WRONG WITH JD CLOTHING!!!

This Truck uses the ATS tripleLok(tm)

The guy who built that transmission, really knew what he was doing.

We just wanted to let you all of know that this is our ATS TripleLok(tm) transmission setup.

This transmission is locked up in 1st gear all the way to 3rd gear. We have been working with putting transmissions in sled trucks starting last year. This truck was running our setup last year as well.

Note:

last year this truck was pulling in lockup with a Stock input shaft.

So... the truth comes out!

Old George has a Barney transmission©..... (I had to!)

Cool! At least its an automatic... . those manual guys can be a little big headed at times - thinking that a manual is the only way to go.

No flames intended - just having fun.

Matt

Easy Holeshot, only party of the truth came out.

About 1%.

That truck is NOT running an entire Barney set up. It may have a Barney part (no doubt modified barney) or two amongst the Dodge parts.

It is however, still running a stock shaft.

The mechanic said they would be glad to test a Barney, and would even pay the shipping of the busted parts back to them, for study.

It was total Barney free at Muncie last year, and I believe it twisted a rear yoke off. ( edit:nope, not a rear yoke, it was a transfer case outputshaft, my mistake. )

Barney?

Holeshot, what have you started???

 :D LOL

Barney Free in '03!!!!

Just want the facts!

Gene it was obvious you had made a mistake about your public statement:

So I’m sure you want to dig up something unrelated to cover your mistake.

The transmission has our valve body components along with our un-modified off the shelf torque converter. The TripleLok™.

This would be second mistake on your behalf. We are not the one’s that made the statements on the TDR. If your information had been correct the first time, you would not of come back with your statement.

Would you be so bold as to tell us about the statement: (it may have a barney part or two). Since you did not know who built the transmission in the first place it would be hard to believe your statement now after the fact. We just wanted to clarify all of this for fact Gene. Please continue----

And people wonder why we do not spend the time and energy to defend at every constant attack toward ATS... ... .

ATS did not start this tread. Sled Puller, you yourself, started this thread, and now are bad mouthing. TDR Members were asking who and what. . ??? Now that it is posted in public that ATS had a part in this, all the name calling and slinging starts... ... . or should I be more specific and say... . "some over educated hilljack, dressed in John Deere green... . "

First you compliment, then you trash your own compliment's to George Peterson... This makes absolutely no sense what so ever. Infact in my eyes you word and integrity is in major question at this point. People are smart and pay attention, you obviously are not giving the consumers enough credit here.

You state this in not a shop or company known on the TDR. I wish I could have seen the look on your face.

I will add, that this is a complete a total disappointment to all the people who spend precious time researching products they are genuinely interested in, not to mention us here at ATS.

When will it ever stop..... ???? When will you ever be content and secure enough as a person to respect others choices and opinions... which differ from your own... ????

Did Mr. Peterson actually do the rebuild of the transmission himself, or have some local person do it?

Is it possible that Sleddie knows this George, and they could be friends and Sled's statement could possibly be a tongue in cheek poke at a buddy that has hackles raised?

Damn people, SETTLE DOWN!!!! It just is not that important, and if you get BENT about something TAKE IT OFFLINE.

TxDieselKid:

To answer your question, from the conversation between George Peterson and Clint this evening, George and a couple friends rebuilt the transmission.

LSMITH:

According to George Peterson himself, he does not know 'Sleddie' (Sled Puller, I am guessing) as a buddy. He has heard of the name, but can not associate a 'real name' or face to go with it.

The only one who seems to be 'bent' here is you, and I would suggest if you would like to continue this conversation, yes, let's take it off line.

All we did was answer one simple question.....

So two people from ATS did not lay into Sled Puller for what he said on this thread? So I am the only one that is bent eh? I must be really slipping in my english comprehension.

The professionalism shown by the various people posting on the behalf of ATS is astonishing.

I am not bent, just sick of all the crying, whining, school yard BS that goes on over a transmission. When the VENDORS act like school kids things are completely and totally out of control. Vendors are held to a higher standard, right or wrong, that is the way it is. Some make the grade and some don't. Potential customers learn about the character of the people they deal with quite quickly when this type of stuff is available ALL the time.

BTW, my dad can beat up your dad. Sorry, couldn't help but feed the mood... .

!!!

Dang guys, calm down!!

Dramer decided to enter into this, we were doing just fine.

Holeshot started the Barney thing, !!!(if barney offends anyone, I will edit, it is just about purple color. )

"over educated hilljack in John Deere Green" is a compliment, and it is not directed at George. The hilljack in question knows who he is, and is not offended.

George would not know my face, but he knows my taillights.

Now lets see if we can clear this up. You want the truth, then here is what I have been led to believe. George has run an ATS converter, but not an ATS transmission. The transmission that George runs has always been built in their shop, it has never been touched by any of the TDR or other vendors. I have also been told that his transmission is unlike any that you can buy, in that it has many custom machined components to address lube and pressure situations.

I can't say much else about that as I am not an auto kind of guy.

LOL

I have also been told that their valvebody is custom and only uses the components of yours required for lockup?? Is this not true, can I buy the same vlavebody as they have from you?

Note: I also think that the stall speed has been modified from the standard off the shelf 12v converter you sell, and that just maybe it might have been changed without you knowing about it.

The ATS converter worked very well all the end of last year, they just have tweeked it a little for their " VERY CUSTOM application. " This truck ain't your average cattle hauler.

Does that help everybody to calm down?

:)

Ah, ATS the eternal victims again.

This makes absolutely no sense what so ever. Infact in my eyes you word and integrity is in major question at this point. People are smart and pay attention, you obviously are not giving the consumers enough credit here.

Too bad ATS doesn't pay attention to the threads like the smart people that pay attention instead of going off half cocked. Sleddy said no TDR vendors built the transmission. Which ATS later said themselves. Selling someone a torque convertor and some valve body parts is a far cry from "our ATS TripleLok(tm) transmission setup".

Hopefully this whole thing won't hurt George and ATS's obviously good relationship. I find it disturbing though that ATS couldn't help but shamelessly promote their transmission when someone was giving a truck a compliment. Then they admit that they didn't even have much of a hand in building the transmission. Imagine that. Just think, if ATS would have just said, "Yep, that's a good running truck. They've been running one of our torque convertors. " this whole thing would be a non issue.

To quote Ranee:

When will it ever stop..... ????

The answer is when vendors are seen and not heard on the TDR.

One Last Post.....

This will be my final post concerning this issue.

Johnboy3:

Don Ramer nor myself EVER said it was 'ATS's Transmission Set Up'. Period. Don mentioned TripleLok and Valve Body. Period. George Peterson is a awesome person. Honest and trust worthy, ATS did not use George or anyone else to promote our transmissions. Sorry you took it that way. You might want to take a second and re-read this thread.

As far as Sled Puller:

Again, I will remind you, ATS NEVER said we rebuilt the transmission. George did NOT modify the TripleLok Converter. No attacks were directly made, but the games are obvious and so are your intentions. ATS was part of the equation and I feel you did not like what you heard or found out... .

I watch the threads and have learned who is honest and who is in it for only 'after work' self-glory and satisfaction.

It is part of my daily job to watch the forums, what really bothers me is that the waters are so muddied for the ones who just want questions answered, innocent people, and I am not happy with that.

LSMITH said it all... ... Potential customers see... ... ...

ATS's professionalism is not in question here. Though, I bet you wish it was. I will again, remind you, if you would like to continue this, private email me- off line. Your personal opinions of ATS need not be entertainment for the masses.

Our customers make us what we are, and this fact will NEVER be taken for granted or forgotten. We grow only when our customers grow.

What is amazing to me, is the fact that certain 'groupies' of this TDR sight have taken advantage of the true root of what this forum is all about.

Say what you want about ATS. What I can promise you, ALL, is that we will be there. For our customers, our supports, and thoughts who are interested in what we can provide for them. With their Dodge, Ford, or Chevy.

We (ATS) have and will always respect everyone's individualities and personal choices. That is one uniqueness GOD gave us.

I will say one other thing. Instead of spending so much time on the TDR,... ... Spend some of your time helping out with what you can in your communities. This war is rough for all. Give a bit of your time, support, and energies to though's that need it.

Let's not waste our energies, let support the one's, who support and need our full and immediate attention.

Thanks for your time and attention.

Mrs Elder-Cannon,

dramer

We just wanted to let you all of know that this is our ATS TripleLok(tm) transmission setup.

Is this a mistake on Don's part? This is the post from this thread I think in question. Don is a smart guy, I give him credit, but was he mistaken?

 I am lost, :

Andrew

I would guess Peterson's truck does not have stock ats parts or converter, and what not.

Don and clint please tell us what place, your trannies took in tulare 02? In the pulls not the drags

ATS TRUCKS WON THE DRAGS AT TULARE 02, and congrats on the wins in the drags, BUT... ... .....

if you dont tell us then I will. My point is, after seeing these ats trucks compete in tulare and knowing people who know a thing or two about george's truck, there is no way ats setup the transmission or contributed to the trans other than a convertor. The peterson trans had to get built by some hilljack from backeast that actually knows a thing or two about pullin tractors... . oops I mean trucks

Yep CCannon, he did say it. Look back a couple of pages. I qouted his exact words. Maybe you guys should actually take the time to read through all the posts carefully.
