So I went with the Lunar Series gauges (wanted to match my inside lighting) and I bought them a while back. I finally got the fuel pressure gauge hooked up and it is showing a constant 16-17psi or so. It doesn't drop with my comp box on 5x5 at WOT at all. I do have a FASS.

Ok, so the reason why it bothers me is what it says on summit racings website now on that gauge.

"This gauge is not designed for use on a Dodge diesel. " (didn't say that when I bought it)

I don't want to mix/match my gauges and I sure as hel don't want to replace all my gauges ($$$) but I need to know if the reading is accurate. Why would it say that about this gauge?

The sender is ran inline at the vp44.

It might be b/c a lot of people dont get or install an isolator and they are tired of broken returns that smell like diesel.

I have FASS 150gpm that is a year old and an Isspro mechanical gauge mounted in line 3" from the pump with current mods. I see 16 to 17 most of the time it will drop to 15 briefly at wide open throttle.

Well that seems to be good news! :D

Astar, does the gage seem to go WAY high at idle and not very stable? During cruise does it seem to hols pretty stable? IF it's an electric, then it is probably air in the line going to the sending unit. Bleed it, run it, bleed it some more. The electrics do not like air at all. I have the Autometer phantoms and when I change the fuel filter, I have to bleed the line to the sender a couple of times for it to settle down. Also check it with a mechanical right off of the schrader valve if you are not using that for your line to the sender. Good luck!

It seems to me the last time the Autometer/Cummins question was kicked around, the Autometer failures were most likely due to not useing a snubber. The VP44 puts out a hyrolic vibration that is not always visible as a needle vibration but none the less fatigs the isolator/gauge diaphram. Iv been useing a Autometer 0-15 with a 10 micron porus disc snubber for over a year now and have no issues.
