I have the Autometer Ultra-Lite Prometer, Boost & Watertemp. I used the green boots that came with the gauges on the bulbs. I felt they were to dim, had a lousy light lime green color. Didn`t really match the dash lighting.

Got a pair of Victor BLUE mood bulbs. They are the push in tybe. Same design as the OE Autometer bulbs.
#ad

They are MUCH better. Brighter, have a Deep Blue/Green color. Illuminate the faces much better. They match the dash bulbs better too. They are 100% better.
Very pleased #ad

The gauge`s don`t get any more hot w/ these bulbs. The Automteter bulbs are 2. 7 watt or 3 watts. The Victor bulbs are probably not much higher wattage than the OE Autometer, if at all.

Where did you purchase them? Still waiting on my dash pod (the one I got was defective) but would like to have these bulbs handy anyhow.

I got mine from Pep Boys. You could try the Amber or Red ones if you wanted too.

<font color=blue>Naw I am a pretty "blue" person #ad

I already had the "blue boots" ordered from Summit to go over the bulbs in my gauges. But if I don't like them I will try your bulbs #ad
Thanx for the tip.

Yeah I will try it out. My guages are just a bit too dim (I like my dash lights dimmed somewhat for better night vision; makes the
Autometer gauges almost unreadable).

Thanks for the tip!

Chris

I'll have to check that out. I have a Pro-Comp pyro and a Sport-Comp boost gauge mounted in frog eyes on top of the dash as the pillar mounts weren't available at the time of installation. Anyway, the Pro-Comp gauge is way brighter than the Sport-Comp. I'll try the blue bulbs to see if that cures it.

Just slipped them in and I don't like 'em. They're to dark. I can hardly see the boost gauge. I think the difference is that I have Sport-Comp with black faces rather than the Ultra-Lite with the light colored face.

Even the Ultra lite series gauges don`t have that great of lighting at night. The light does not shine thru the face. It gets kind of lit up by the light coming from around the edges of the face. The needle really needs to be lit too.

I'm sick and tired of hearing about the Ultra-Lites and pillar mounts #ad
. I just ordered some. I've been wanting the pillar mount since it came out but I had just spent I don't remember how much on the gauges I have. So I'll sell them to a friend to help pay for the new ones.

I saw some Ultra Lites in another members truck. They are real nice looking. I decided that I am going to get them too. But not sure on the faces. The carbon fibre ones look pretty trick. Here the problem though. If you plan on going with a HX40, the boost gauge in the smaller size won't show the correct amount of boost. You would have to buy a 2 5/8 gauges. Thats not going to fit in any pillar mount. So i heard that some guys are trying to get AM to produce one in the smaller size. I have not been able to find that post yet but I would like jump on thier crusade.
