I have acouple problems with my autometer gauges.

First problem is my EGT gauge reads about 650 or so all the time. I've double and triple checked my wiring. Even pulled my voltmeter out to make sure it's got power. I welded the probe into the ex. manifold and it melted abit of the fitting around the probe. Could that have damaged the probe?

Second is on my trans. temp gauge where do I hook the wire up? The instructions aren't to clear to me as to where to put the wire.

Thanks for any info

I would say yes the probe is probably damaged, but can be replaced if you only welded the nut into the manifold. If I remember correctly, the +term. is on one side, the -term. onthe other side, and the sender term. is in the center on the autometer transmission temp guage.
