I have an Autometere Phantom series EGT gauge that I have had hooked up for a little over a year and just this week the gauge starting going crazy. The needle is accurate at times, but other times it is bouncing all over the place. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?

Had that happen with my TRANS TEMP gauge... . Check the back of the gauge and make sure that your terminals are still fastened down..... My ground wire was barely touching my terminals and it would make the needle go up and own and would work half the time then wouoldn't work..... SO start there first

Had that problem once it was the thermacouple to gauge wire splice . It looked ok tightened it and problem went away.

Mine has a butt splice in it with that having shrink wrap over it. I am guessing I can cut it off and check it. The other connections were tight.

Mine was an ispro had two eyes with a machine screw and nut with heat shrink insulation. I cut the eyes of and used a crimpsplice I dont think they will take solder. I hope that will solve your problem

Don't mess with the crimps on the probe side these are a certain length, if their is a problem send it back to the factory

Talked to Autometer today and that was the conclusion. It needs to be sent back. At this time I believe I will be just getting a whole new setup of DiProcol or Isspro gauge setup.
