Has anyone had problems with their Autometer guages fogging up? My trans temp and EGT guage fog up behind the display glass, especially this past winter. The boost guage isn't such a problem, I'm sure due to the intake air flowing to it, but the pointer will stick periodically on it. A light tap on the pod and it comes back to life. The trans and EGT guage is getting to be a bigger problem as time goes by, as the the glass is being stained from the buildup. Anyone out there with the same problem? If so, did Autometer replace them or can they be serviced? Thanks.

Auto Meter

Call the dealer where you got the meters. They should be aware of this problem, as Auto Meter is reworking its gauges to try and solve this problem... If that doesn't work, give Auto Meter a call directly... ;)

Thanks for the info.

I called Summit and Autometer this morning.

Summit said they were still covered under their one year return policy so they would replace them free of charge. I asked them about the new guages coming out in September, but they didn't know anything about them.

So, I called Autometer, and they were extremely helpful and ready to remedy the problem. They currently have, in stock, some of the new "antifog" glass lenses which will be present on the next batch of guages. They said to go ahead and send them the guages and they would replace the lenses and fix/replace the boost guage.

I was thoroughly impressed with both Summit and Autometer's customer service and willingness to help.
