Help, somebody, please. I have a 95 Ram diesel and I am tryhing to connect trans temp gauge. I disconnected the orig 'idiot lite' sender and replaced with sender from autometer. transmission won't shift into OD and temp lite stays on. That tells me I must utilize both senders. I tried all sorts ofgalvanizewd nipples, elbows and fittings but cantget the right combination. The portt is so close to the transmission can't screw the nipple(with sender attached) into it. All the time I am getting soaked with transmission fluid. Any ideas?????

There is a replacement trans cooler line with the fitting in it for a sender. The Dodge number is: 5011244AA

Cheapest price I've seen was $80.

The idiot light sender is, as you found out, also used to control the OD of the transmission.

You can get a replacement line with the port in is, as already mentioned, or you can splice the "hot" line with a T compression fitting. I'd opt for the replacement line. The reason being your '95 has the crappy plastic connectors at joints in the transmission line. It is a good idea to replace these as they can blow out causing you big headaches and potentially seriously damaging the transmission.

Blair at Parker Motors has helped many members out with these lines. He gets you a good price and the exchange rate (he's in Canada) really helps out too. The number there is 877-511-5599.
