Automotive MIG welding question

While removing the exhaust manifolds on my 66 Chrysler 300 I busted one of the studs



There is enough of the stud left sticking out of the block to weld a nut to the stud and remove it.



My question is about connecting the welder ground lead to a spark plug. The spark plug is very close to the stud and much cleaner that anything else to clamp to.



Will I weld the spark plug to the head if I do that?

Try to hook it to the coil wire, awesome ground there.

If the plug is tight it should be fine. Personally I would hook the ground to the alternator braket, motor mount, thermostat housing, water pump or power steering braket. Jake
